Where NOT to anchor in Ibiza?
As a general rule (and as stated in the Safety Regulations and recommendations of the Ministry of Transport) it is not allowed to anchor in the coastal strip parallel to the coast, which is 200 metres wide.
But on the other hand, in Ibiza we have an underwater ecosystem that, in addition to being a World Heritage Site, is threatened by climate change. We are talking about the Posidonia Oceanica forests.
These forests are responsible for oxygenating the waters and giving our sea its characteristic transparency and turquoise. It is very important not to anchor on the Posidonia, you are helping to protect this important organism!
